Education and training

Healthcare institutions and organizations have limited educational and training content on Asian American issues and experiences, or how to include Asian Americans in overall healthcare workforce climate initiatives.

We offer brief educational workshops, in-depth trainings, and curriculum development.

Workshops and Training

Group Facilitation for Asian American staff: We provide an introduction to Asian Americans on racial identity formation, racialized power dynamics, intra- and inter-ethnic and -racial conflict at work, and discuss strategies for management and leadership.

Introduction to  Asian Americans in healthcare:  Who are the Asian Americans in healthcare, and how can we understand the historical and policy contexts that shape Asian American representation in the health workforce? We will discuss Asian American positionality, and how this impacts a range of issues from affirmative action to health equity and quality of care.

Community and solidarity building in healthcare for Asian American staff: Following one or more group facilitation sessions, we discuss ways in which Asian Americans in healthcare can build community among each other and develop solidarity networks within their organizations, to advocate for healthcare justice.

Curricula

Our team has extensive experience teaching and learning with a range of learners, from undergraduate to graduate and health professional students, to practitioners and healthcare leadership. Meaningful change requires sustained effort and education. Through our curriculum development work, we aim to disrupt ahistorical narratives, engage others and ourselves in critical self-reflection, and support others on their journey towards advancing racial justice.
